petit software package provides log analysis tool for syslog, apache and raw log files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install petit
petit is installed in your system.
Make ensure the petit package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep petit *
You will get with petit package name, version, architecture and description in a table
